  • K7000 Clinch Nut, Flush Mounted

    THREAD: AS8879
    MATERIAL: Carbon steel, heat treated.
    FINISH: Cadmium plate per AMS-QQ-P-416, Type II plating and Kaylube molybdenum disulfide dry lubricant after plating per AS5272, Type I.
    APPLICATION: Blind application where a hex nut is inaccessible for wrenching or where limited clearance prevents installation of an anchor nut. After installation, clinch nuts become permanently fixed and remain in position during disassembly. Clinch nuts may be used in thin sheets of such materials such as aluminum alloy, copper, brass or mild steel.

    -4 shank lengths will produce torque and push out values slightly below those required by NASM25027.

    FINISH: Kaylube molybdenum disulfide dry lubricant. Use part number K7031 for silver plate per AMS 241.

    APPLICATION: Blind application where a fixed nut will aid assembly and maintenance. Use with AS8879 external threaded elements. This series is for use where space for anchor nuts is not available. The K7200 may be used with thin sheets of such materials as aluminum alloy, brass, copper and mild steel.

    K7201 and K7231 are used in areas requiring non-magnetic materials or corrosion resistant steel.

    NOTE: K7201 and K7231 are dimensionally identical except for material.

    LOCKING INSERT: Gold Color Nylon - Heat Stabilized (Suitable for temperatures up to 210° F).

    PERFORMANCE : Ø10/32 : NASM 25027 except : torque out 40 inch (1 complete single cycle after heating for 6 hours at 210°F).

    FLOATABILITY: Minimum radial .020 within limits of « B » dimension.

    APPLICATION: Type NSF 88 Clinch Nuts are particularly suited for use in applications where limited mounting or wrenching areas make use of miniature fixed nut desirable since the spline on the nut shank must broach into the work. Installations are usually limited to use in thin Aluminum or soft Steel Sheets or plates, the floating nut component adds advantage to the use of NSF 88 since it relaxes the usual requirements for close bolt hole alignments in making assembly stack-ups.
